We have slept well on this trip.
Except for our first two hotels in Cuba – the Gran Hotel in
Camaguey and La Ronda in Trinidad – our rooms have had comfortable
king-sized beds.
We woke today at 7AM , showered, dressed and
finished packing for the homeward-bound flights.
Walked the short block to the now-familiar News
Café for a last breakfast and people-watching as we enjoyed the
soft, warm, balmy trade winds for the final time.
Checked out of The Hotel at 10AM and took a
taxi ($35) back to Miami International Airport.
MIA is one of the nicest airports we’ve been in – large,
ample sitting spaces, efficient intra-terminal trains and incredible
art.
Our flight to Dallas departed almost on time
and we enjoyed the Jason Statham in-flight movie “Wild Card,”
landing in Dallas on time at 3PM.
Grabbed lunch at TGI Fridays and then found our
gate for the last leg of this incredible trip – the two-hour flight
to Tucson.

When we saw Tucson gleaming in the desert to
the west we knew we were home, happy to have had such a wonderful
chapter full of adventures to add to Our Magnificent Journey.
